Mission & Purpose Statement

CHS Mission and Purpose Statement

Mission

The Countryside Home Schoolers (CHS) is a group of families that desire to educate and train our children from a biblical perspective. Our mission is to encourage and support families who have chosen to homeschool their children by providing cooperative events and classes that add to the educational experience of the children.

Purpose Statements

  1. The purpose of the CHS “paid classes” is to provide instruction to students in subject areas where parents might not feel equipped to teach their students, areas of enrichment such as robotics or engineering, or areas where group interaction enhances learning, such as science labs or a foreign language class. In addition, these classes can make group experiences, such as drama productions, possible. Paid classes are generally offered for upper elementary through high school, but the selection of courses offered each year will depend on teacher availability and will not necessarily cover all the core subjects a student needs.

  2. The purpose of the CHS Elementary Co-op is to bring together like-minded CBC families for fellowship, encouragement, social interaction, and academic enrichment regardless of each family’s personal approach to homeschooling. Each mom who participates in the co-op will be responsible for carrying out a role in the morning’s activities. Parents and students will agree to conduct themselves in a manner pleasing to the Lord in all group activities. Specific requirements are outlined in the Elementary Co-op Handbook.
